Some day you will be old enough to start writing fairy tales again …
Discover the books
Grandma Picton (aka Pamela) was born in the Black Country and moved to Cornwall in the 70s with her Naval husband. She started nursing at the age of 15 and nursed for 48 years.
Naturally she wanted to be on the front line at the start of the pandemic, but instead turned her energies to making hundreds of masks and writing children's stories!
Pamela's creative flair has always shone through in all her knitting, sewing and embroidery projects. However, this is the first time she has put pen to paper and created a story that can be enjoyed by all ages and kept within families as a fitting memento of these unprecedented times.
The Story
Written by a Grandma during her isolation in the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020. She desperately missed the closeness of her beloved grandchildren, with all their laughter, play and cuddles. Her beautiful garden was her happy place, and one day it gifted her the 'Strawberry with a Crown', from which this sweet and magical children's story was born.
The Story Continues
This sequel to 'The Strawberry with a Crown' was written by Grandma Picton as we entered the autumn lockdown of 2020. Her garden is adorned with fairy houses and dragons for children (and adults!) to enjoy, and these inspired the lockdown adventures of Strawberry Princess and her friends.
The magic of these books is inspired by the Fae.
These stories were written with love for Grandma Picton's grandchildren and great-grandchild, who she so missed during lockdown.
